Dressing for the stables is usually a no-go for fashion week regulars. But, it’s not just Beyoncé’s shocking appearance at Luar in 2024 that proved cowgirls belong on the front row, too. Today, it was Oprah Winfrey who finally faced to the fashion crowd at Chloé and Stella McCartney’s fall/winter 2026 shows (next to her best friend, Gayle King). And, with her, came a lesson in equestrian style.

For the first show, she arrived in head-to-toe Chloé, of course: a pair of high-rise wide-leg blue jeans, which her pale ruffled blouse was tucked into, curtained over her snakeskin shoes. It’s a style fit for an equestrian (or, at least for Oprah, who owns a 23-acre equestrian estate). It’s not quite warm enough for the outdoor equestrian season, though, so she pulled on a cropped gathered jacket to add dimension to her rider-ready look.
And, what better than a ponytail to go with? While her most obvious accessories were a pair of sunglasses, rings, and a small cream Paddington Bag, her beauty was just as much an accessory. Her updo—which had barely-visible dark brown highlights—was set high before being tied in incremental knots to form a bubble ponytail.

The show itself was an emotional one “reflecting on humanity, empathy, and devotion,” read the show notes, which can also be said about the personality of a horse. It’s not a coincidence, then, that her equestrian get-up had her at an actual stable for Stella McCartney’s show at the French equestrian center the day before.

There, the billionaire wore something more free-flowing and formal: a bubble-free ponytail, cargo pants instead of jeans, and a salmon-colored blazer. At both shows, it was all about the hair—and wardrobe—of a mystic traveler.
