Serving Looks And Love: Black Stars And Their Dates At The 98th Oscars

The Academy Awards have long been one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights. Once a year, people from a myriad of industries get the opportunity to gather and celebrate cinema’s outstanding achievements. The 98th Oscars, held March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, was one for the culture thanks to the historic dominance of Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which bagged a record-breaking 16 nominations. The presence of Black love on full display also made the awards show one to remember.
Ryan and Zinzi Coogler easily stole the night, not only by stunning on the red carpet, but also for the sweet message he shared about being a winner because she’s his wife when he picked up the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Supporting actress in the award-winning film Wunmi Mosaku also showed up in all of her glory alongside her husband Tash Moseley. Mosaku’s bump made an appearance as the couple welcomed their first child in 2024 and are now preparing for their second.
Lowkey couple Usher and his wife Jennifer Goicoechea turned the Oscars into a date night, with the beauty wearing a dramatic black halter-neck gown while Usher complemented her in a sharp white double-breasted suit jacket with black pants. Other legends like Spike and Tonya Lewis Lee popped out amongst other seasoned love stories.
